How Do I Edit my Website?

Making basic content changes to your website on your own

Ready to make some updates to your site?

1) First, log in to your website. (Need help? Use these instructions.)

2) After logging in, you will now see your WordPress Dashboard. 

3) Move your cursor to the top of the page, and click on "Visit Site" or simply click your business name.


4) You will be be browsing your website, however you will see a special admin bar at the top. 

5) Navigate to the page you want to edit or change. (For example, click on your "About Us" page to make changes to your staff or other elements on that page.)

6) At the top of the bar, click on "DoorGrow Page Editor".

7) Now, simply move your cursor over the section you want to edit. Hover there a moment, a a blue box will surround the element. There will be several icons that allow you to manipulate this element:

MOVE: Click and hold on this icon to move the content contained in the blue box to another area on the page. It's that simple to reorganize your content!

SETTINGS: Click here to change the settings, which include things like text content, text size, text color, background images or colors, animation, videos, and more.

DUPLICATE: Copy this element. This is the quickest way to save time to create more similar looking content.

EDIT COLUMN: Column settings - if you want 3 items to fit on a row, but there are only two, click here to change the settings to fit more.

REMOVE: Delete this element and all content contained in the blue box.

8) Click on the appropriate icon to make the changes you want. (Likely it will be the wrench icon / Settings which allow you to make the majority of changes.
The settings for that content element will pop up in a window. Make the desired changes. Click on the "Save" button when done.


9) Move your cursor around another item on the page that you want to change. Make the desired changes.

10) When you are done with all the changes you'd like to make, click on the "DONE" logo in the top right corner. 


11) Next, click on "PUBLISH" to make the changes live for all to see. Or click on "SAVE DRAFT" to continue editing the page at a later date, while not changing the current live page.
